I first met Gigi a little over a year ago when a good friend was on the hunt for a horse, she happened to come across a horse that one of Gigi’s clients was selling and I just so happened to be in the area photographing horses so she had asked me to go by and try the horse for her.
Now, when I was first starting to ride I did the Hunter/Jumper thing, but I have been a dressage person for as long as I can remember. Getting on a jumper and riding in a jumping saddle is like speaking a different language, and jumping….well let’s just say I am a giant baby when I ride because I really don’t like falling off. Gigi was seriously so incredibly awesome when I was out trying the horse for my friend and I even jumped my first line since I was in 7th grade.
I might partially contribute the mid-life riding crisis I am currently going through on that day, because I had so much fun out at Step by Step farm, and trying that horse. I have to say that if you are looking for a Jumper trainer in the Austin you have got to go to Step by Step Farm and meet Gigi.
Frederico & Gigi run Step by Step Farm which is located in Dripping Springs, right outside of Austin,TX. This is truly a beautiful world class facility run by the best of the best. Frederico and Gigi both have quite the impressive list of accomplishments from the Pan Am Games to the Olympics. They also have quite the record of training young horses all the way up to Grand Prix.
