Leontes, who they call Leo around the barn, is a 12 Year Old Oldenburg Gelding. I met Leo while taking Madeline’s Senior Portraits at Twisted Oak Farm in Bulverde,TX where she trains with Claudia Conn.
Madeline found Leo after her lost her previous horse. Madeline and Claudia set out to try and find her a new horse, and in the process they found two that they couldn’t live without. The other horse they found was Lux, who we also photographed. Be on the lookout for Lux’s blog post soon.
Leo is Madeline’s jumper, and I can tell you after seeing the pair in action at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show in Katy,TX that Leo is AMAZING! The corners that I witnessed Madeline & Leo make as they zoomed around the jump course were some of the most insane and tight turns I have seen, and to think the pair had been together less than a year and this is Maddie’s first jumper. Maddie had longed to try jumpers for a while, and when she met Leo she knew that would be possible. They had an instant connection.
