Have you ever seen or met a dog who completely 100% fits his/her name? Well, to me Flash is one of those dogs. Flash is an 8-year-old Belgian Sheepdog with a long gorgeous black coat and pointed ears always perky like he’s listening in and ready to go at all times. Flash is owned and loved by Terry and lives in Flordia.
Flash’s original owner passed away and Terry was so gracious and fortunate enough to have him join their family. Flash is extremely outgoing. He has a little sibling cat who lives with him named Little, and a LOT of dog friends. Flash goes to work every day at the animal hospital where Terry works and he absolutely loves greeting all of the people and pets who come in and out daily. Flash even has his own Instagram – @blueflashdog!
“I did not have a dog for a few years and my heart was ready. I was at an open house for a cancer center for dogs. A person came up to me and said, “I’ve got a dog for you.” And showed me his picture, it was love at first sight! I have had him for almost 4 years and am so thankful! He goes everywhere with me.”
Terry shares, “Flash can do many special things. He will bring items on command. If you drop your glasses or the tv remote, no worries! He will bring them on command. He has a good nose and has been taught to identify certain scents. You can hide something and he will find it by using his nose.”
Flash gets goat milk every day and likes dog treats. He also loves ice cream!
Terry is a veterinarian and has had a lot of pets through the years- cats, dogs, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, and horses for her daughter. Terry believes that animals are good teachers of how to love and how to be loved.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
