Enzo, also known as The Perfect Pony, is a handsome 16-year-old Appendix gelding loved by Hettie Richardson and Canice Young of Bay Yard Farms, where they train with Trina Green.
One of Hettie’s favorite memories with Enzo comes from a few years ago during a massive freeze in Texas. The barn had lost power and running water, and everyone was working together to make sure the horses stayed comfortable. Despite the cold and chaos, Enzo took it all in stride. He stood patiently while being cared for and even seemed to enjoy the extra attention. In those tough moments, Enzo’s calm, loving personality shone through — a true testament to his gentle spirit and trust in his people.
Hettie wasn’t always a “horse girl” growing up, but when her daughter Canice fell in love with riding, it quickly became a family affair. What started as a new experience soon became a shared passion, and now, Enzo has made himself right at home in their hearts.
They like to say their horse search was one of the easiest in history — because when you find “the perfect pony,” you just know.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
