UNDALATA PRESSURE | 14- YEAR-OLD SADDLEBRED GELDING | MURPHY, TEXAS
Meet Undalata Pressure, also known as Ed, a striking 14-year-old chestnut Saddlebred with a distinctive white stripe along his face and one white back foot. Ed was born and raised at Undulate Stables, where he came from his sire Nutcracker. Ed now resides at Mill-Again Stables, where he’s cherished for both his competitive spirit and his unique quirks. Ed is also adored by his owner Jill Lopez.
One of the most endearing qualities of Ed is his attachment to his rider, Jill. After a brief absence from the barn, Ed’s reaction was nothing short of heartwarming. His incessant pawing, a behavior he reserves only for when he can hear or see his rider, demonstrated a deep fondness and connection. It’s moments like these that remind us of the special bond between horse and rider.
Ed entered Jill’s life during a pivotal moment at the Louisville show. Amid trying out several gaited horses, it was Ed’s strength, speed, and undeniable presence that captivated her from the first ride. The bond was instant, leading to a swift decision to make him part of her family.
Beyond his impressive show record, Ed is known for his mischievous side. He enjoys playing a game of defiance when asked to perform the “Come Get Me” trick, displaying an annoyed expression when corrected. It’s clear that Ed not only understands the trick but also enjoys teasing his human companions with his playful antics.
Ed has a sweet tooth for treats of all kinds, but lately, he’s been particularly enamored with oranges. His enthusiasm for treats is matched only by his occasional grumpiness, earning him the reputation of a lovable curmudgeon around the barn.
With numerous victories under his belt, including a reserve champion title at Louisville in the five-gaited adult amateur championship, Ed has proven himself as a top contender in the show ring. His accomplishments reflect both his talent and the strong partnership he shares with his rider.
Jill has been immersed in the world of horses since a young age, captivated initially by show jumper vlogs and later by the opportunity to ride and compete. Over the years, her love for horses has only deepened, finding joy in the companionship and unique bond that comes with owning a horse like Ed.
