TRUMPET | 14 YEAR OLD DUTCH WARMBLOOD | MIDLAND, TX
Trumpet is a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood Gelding. His sire is Indoctro and his dam is Pastorale. Trumpet lives and trains with On the Mark Equestrian in Midland, TX.
Trumpet is a magnificent 16.3 bay gelding with a distinctive blaze on his face that sets him apart from other horses. He is a friendly and affectionate creature, known for his unique habit of giving kisses to anyone who offers him a tasty treat. This charming trait has made him a favorite among those who know him, and he is sure to win the hearts of anyone he meets. Trumpet is a joy to be around and a wonderful companion for those who appreciate his unique characteristics.
Gina is the proud owner of Trumpet. She found him through Donna Duffy, who owns Little Brook Farms. Gina has had Trumpet for five months now and is thrilled with her decision to bring him into her life. From the moment she laid eyes on Trumpet, she knew he was the one for her. It was clear that he had a special charm and charisma that would make him a perfect companion. Now, she couldn’t imagine her life without him and cherishes every moment she spends with her beloved horse.
Trumpet has a few favorite treats that never fail to bring a smile to his face. He adores Uncle Jimmy’s Balls, which always make him perk up with excitement. Additionally, he has a sweet tooth and enjoys indulging in mints and donut holes whenever he gets the chance. For a healthier option, he loves apples and carrots, which he finds just as delicious. With such a diverse range of favorites, it’s no wonder that Trumpet always seems to be in high spirits whenever he’s given a treat.
Gina has always had a love for horses, ever since her mother introduced her to them when she was a little girl. However, it wasn’t until her late thirties that she had the opportunity to own horses herself. Along with her beloved gelding, Trumpet, she also has two mares named CR Godiva and Gustina (also known as Gretta). Gina is passionate about all aspects of horse ownership, from riding and competing to simply spending time with her horses, grazing and grooming them. Her love for these magnificent animals has been life-changing, deepening her appreciation for them and bringing her endless joy and fulfillment.
One of Gina’s fondest memories with Trumpet was when she realized that he was the same horse she had admired years earlier while watching a clip of Becky Gochman riding him in Wellington. At the time, Gina had thought to herself, “I would love to have that horse!” Years later, while on a trip to Florida with her trainer to try out horses, Gina was sent a video of a horse named Trumpet, and she did a double-take when she saw the name. When she met the owner and confirmed that this was the same horse she had admired years before, she knew it was meant to be. After just one ride, Gina fell in love with Trumpet and knew that he was the one for her. This special moment is one that Gina will always treasure, and it’s a testament to the bond that she shares with her beloved horse.
