Sandcastle – Formally Known as KEEFER HDH | 8 YEARS OLD DUTCH WARMBLOOD | HOUSTON, TX
Sandy, Sandcastle, is an 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood Gelding. He trains at Morisson Farm.
Sandy is a grey horse with a snip on his nose, dapple legs, and a dark mane and tail. He has a friendly and loyal personality, similar to that of a puppy. Sandy is highly motivated by treats and will do anything to earn them. He is a hard worker and always eager to please, making him a beloved member of any equestrian team or family.
Ava stumbled upon her beloved equine companion while horse shopping. Through fortuitous contact with another trainer, she was introduced to Sandy. Ava met Sandy at GSEC while trying out another horse, it was a love-at-first-sight moment and the rest is history. She acquired him in November 2022 and has cherished the unique and strikingly beautiful horse ever since.
Ava embarked on her equestrian journey at the age of six in Oklahoma, starting with ponies as her ride. Since then, she has grown her riding skills and gained experience by leasing two ponies, Ginger, and Happy Feet. Although Happy was her longest companion, he had to leave last December, but fortunately, Sandy came along soon after. Sandy is Ava’s first horse, and her favorite aspect of owning him is the satisfaction of having a lifelong equine companion that is truly hers.
Ava’s fondest memories with Sandy include their first show together, where she initially felt nervous due to the lack of previous showing experience with him. However, Sandy proved to be an angel and they performed exceptionally well, claiming the Champion title in their division. The remarkable achievement left Ava brimming with pride, and she was convinced that Sandy was indeed the perfect horse for her.
