Meet Tallulah, aka “Lulu”, a 7-year-old bay Hanoverian mare with a white star on her face who lives in Houston, TX. Lulu is owned and ridden by Marisol Hess who trains with Patty Roberts out of Memorial Park Hunters.
Marisol shares her favorite memory with Lulu, “Every year the barn hosts a Halloween party where there is a costume contest and a parade. After waiting until the night before to find a costume, I decided to dress her up as a giraffe and I went as a safari guide. I had so much fun painting her spots and dressing her up!”
In the fall Marisol ended up having to move barns and was without a horse. When she came to Memorial Park Hunters, Lulu’s owner at the time was going to college, and the two ended up a perfect match!
Marisol shared that before getting a horse of her own, she rode many school horses. “I can quite honestly say she is one of the sweetest mares I’ve ever met. She loves a good neck scratch and will make a funny face or smile when you find the perfect spot. I know I can always count on her to help me out, whether we are in the show ring, or just when I need a friend.”
Lulu loves a good peppermint! She isn’t shy when it comes to treats, she will eat pretty much anything. The strangest thing she liked was the peep marshmallows!
Marisol shares that she’s had a passion for horses ever since she can remember. She started riding at the age of 5, taking lessons, and last year she got her first horse. “I’ve enjoyed having my own horse and being able to create a connection with her.”
