Ta-Da “Kyle” | Little Bay Farm Hunter Jumper Houston, TX

Ta-Da is known as Kyle around the barn. He is a 10-year-old Thoroughbred owned by Kristin. The pair rides with Laura Mendoza at Little Bay Farm. He may win the award for the shiniest pony at the show! He raced 9 times and won one race at the track. He has AP Indy and Northern Dancer in his bloodlines.

Kyle is sassy in his stall but loves attention outside of his stall. Kristin is also convinced that he understands English and tries to speak it for them. He has the best heart and tries and loves his job. He knows that when he does his job well he gets lots of attention so he works even harder. This special boy loves carrots with molasses, watermelon, peeps, and even nerds on a rope.

Kyle was owned by another client in the barn and when she needed to sell, Kristin decided to keep him in the barn and buy him. She has had him for five years and they had a bit of a rocky start. “It took a while to bond and understand each other, but we have a great relationship now and enjoy working with each other.”

“My favorite memory of Kyle is when we finally both clicked together jumping courses. It had been a struggle up to that point, but we both stuck with it and finally figured each other out. It made it so much more fun for both of us, and I couldn’t stop grinning.”

Kyle has earned several zone finals and year-end awards in the thoroughbred Hunter division, as well as championships and year-end placings in the Adult Amateur Hunter and Equitation divisions.

Kristin started riding a little over 30 years ago. “My favorite thing about owning horses is the bond you create as owner and rider. Nothing is better than really clicking with your horse both on the ground and under saddle.”
