Pauli, Sweet Dreams, is an Oldenburg Warmblood Mare. She lives and trains at Blackstone Equestrian in Parker, TX.
Pauli is a beautiful bay horse with a unique personality that sets her apart from other equines. She is well-known for her love of people and always greets her human friends with a friendly nicker and a gentle nudge. Pauli loves to be brushed and petted, and she’s never happier than when she’s in the company of her human companions.
However, there is one thing that Pauli simply cannot stand: dogs. Whenever she sees a canine, she becomes agitated and uneasy. Her ears flatten back, and she paws at the ground, ready to defend herself if necessary. Despite this, Pauli’s friendly and outgoing nature makes her a favorite among all those who know her, and her unique characteristics make her one-of-a-kind in the equine world.
Macy, Pauli’s owner, always dreamed of finding the perfect horse to call her own. One day, while attending the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), she stumbled upon a beautiful bay horse with a striking personality. Macy knew instantly that she had found her perfect match in Pauli. Without hesitation, she brought Pauli home and began the process of getting to know her new equine companion. Though they have only been together for a short time, Macy and Pauli have already formed a strong bond. Macy knows that Pauli is the horse she has been searching for all along.
Pauli has a bit of a sweet tooth, and there’s nothing she loves more than a tasty treat. Her favorite snacks are apples and carrots, which she eagerly chomps on with delight. Whenever Pauli sees her human friends coming with a basket of fresh produce, she can hardly contain her excitement.
But there’s another treat that Pauli simply can’t resist: German horse muffins. These delectable snacks are a real indulgence for Pauli, and she loves nothing more than snacking on them to her heart’s content.
Macy has always had a special connection with animals, and horses, in particular, have held a special place in her heart. One day, she stumbled upon the world of horseback riding and quickly became inspired by the sport. As she spent more and more time on the saddle, Macy discovered a deep passion for riding that she couldn’t ignore. From that point on, she has been a dedicated equestrian, spending countless hours perfecting her skills and forging strong bonds with the horses she rides. Riding horses has become a central part of Macy’s life, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Macy has had many wonderful moments with her beloved horse, Pauli, but one memory stands out above all the rest. Her favorite memory with Pauli is the moment when she first brought her home as her very own horse. Macy remembers the excitement and anticipation she felt as she watched Pauli step off the trailer and onto her new home turf. It was a moment she will never forget and one that marked the beginning of an unforgettable journey with her beloved equine companion.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2023 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 150 Horses and Dogs and was able to donate just under $15,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston.
