SUPREME 6 | 12 YEAR OLD HOLSTEINER | ARGYLE, TX

Soup, Supreme 6, is a Holsteiner Gelding. He is trained by Jim and Joan Hensen at the Foxglen Farms in Argyle, TX.

Soup is a magnificent horse with a unique appearance that sets him apart from the rest. His dark bay coat is adorned with numerous dapples that shimmer in the sunlight, giving him a truly eye-catching look. One thing that makes Soup particularly distinctive is the absence of any face markings, which allows his handsome features to stand out even more. Additionally, Soup has a white ankle on his front right leg and a white sock on his left rear leg, which further accentuates his elegant form.

But it’s not just Soup’s physical appearance that makes him special; he also possesses a one-of-a-kind personality that sets him apart from other horses. As his owner, Susan, will proudly attest, Soup is truly the horse of a lifetime. He is friendly, affectionate, and always eager to please. Whether he’s out for a leisurely ride or competing in a high-stakes event, Soup is always at his best, exuding grace, confidence, and an undeniable sense of style.

Susan is often asked how she found such a remarkable horse. The truth is, Soup was already a beloved member of their barn community when Susan first laid eyes on him. He had been owned previously by a junior rider, who had taken excellent care of him and helped him develop his impressive skills and abilities. Susan was immediately drawn to Soup’s distinctive appearance and friendly, playful personality, and it wasn’t long before she knew that he was the horse for her. She has now owned Soup for four years and plans to keep him forever, cherishing every moment spent together and continuing to watch him thrive and grow.

This goofball of a horse has a sweet tooth and out of all the treats that he loves to indulge in, bananas hold a very special place in his heart. It’s no secret that Soup goes absolutely bananas for these tasty snacks.

Soup has an impressive list of accomplishments as an athlete. He is a three-time THJA and USHJA year-end Champion in the highly competitive 3’3” Performance Hunter category, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication. In addition, Soup’s remarkable performances earned him a national ranking of fifth place in the same division in 2020. These incredible achievements are a testament to Soup’s exceptional abilities and Susan is constantly in awe of his remarkable skills.

Susan’s love for horses began at a very young age when she was completely infatuated with these magnificent animals. She started riding Western through high school but then took a long hiatus. However, at the age of 45, she decided to get back into riding and began competing in the hunters. Now, after 23 years of riding, Susan is still as passionate as ever about horses and the special bond that she shares with them. For Susan, being with her horses is a source of pure joy and a way to find peace and tranquility amidst the busy pace of everyday life. As a pediatric anesthesiologist, the barn provides her with a space to take a deep breath and reset, and the bond that she has developed with her horses is one of mutual trust and understanding that brings a sense of calm to her life.

Susan’s favorite memory with Soup is centered around his unique personality, which she absolutely adores. Soup is a charming, goofy horse with a highly intelligent mind and a level head, who always looks out for his rider. He takes great care to ensure that Susan is safe and comfortable when riding him. However, Soup is not above displaying his playful side, and he has a habit of cocking his head and giving Susan a side-eye when he is begging for treats, which she finds both amusing and endearing. For Susan, Soup’s unique personality is what sets him apart from other horses, and it’s what makes every moment spent with him so special and memorable.
