Meet Stephano FFF, “Stephano”, who’s an 8-year-old Oldenburg Warmblood. Stephano is a black gelding, with two very small half-white socks. Stephano was bred by First Flight Farm. His sire is French Kiss and his dam is Saraya. Stephano is related to the Champion Dressage horse Donnerhall. Both of his parents are successful dressage horses. Maria keeps Stephano at Russell Equestrian Center in San Antonio, TX, here is where the pair train.
Maria’s favorite memory is when Stephano won Reserve Champion in the Hunters and Equitation after just moving up and having recently recovered from an injury. “It was very special because I’ve had the opportunity to learn so much from him. We got him as a young horse who was particularly green in order for us to work our way up. Being able to watch him get better is incredibly special. Another thing I find so amazing is that I have been the only owner he’s had besides his breeder. We have such a unique bond and I cherish being able to grow and learn together”, says Maria.
Maria shares, “We first met when I tried him at First Flight Farm, where he was born and bred. Since I’ve had him for almost 2 years now. I was horse shopping for my first horse and that is when I found Stephano. He is incredibly playful and loves outside time in turnout. When you give him scratches, he’ll scratch you back.”
Stephano loves carrots, and Snaks 5th Avenchew treats. He also loves eating marshmallows, and watermelon, he even likes drinking Starbucks refreshers!
Maria has been riding for around 3 years. She got into riding because she has always loved horses and her family used to own horses. “I love the partnership I have with my horse and how special they are. They’re like our best friends!”, says Alvarez.
