Sister Equestrian Portraits | Edgebrook Equestrian | Houston,TX Photographer

I had so much fun photographing these sisters with their ponies at Edgebrook Equestrian Center in Magnolia,TX. I spend a couple of days at this gorgeous Hunter/Jumper Facility that is located right off of 1486 in Magnolia earlier this month, and I can not wait to head back this month for even more portraits! The golden light even in the winter time didn’t disappoint.

We started out the session photographing Aubrey with her pony Rhett. She started out with an equestrian look featuring navy breeches with a white blouse for her individual portraits and switched into a long lace dress for portraits with her sister. Rhett was a born model and loved being in-front of the camera and cuddling with Aubrey. After we wrapped up portraits of Aubrey, we switched to portraits of Annesley with her pony Bling. Bling, well, he is a white pony, if you have been around horses you know that there is something about white ponies that just makes them special little unicorns in their own way. Annesley did such a great job with her feisty pony and kept smiling the entire time, even when he was trying to eat her hair. Annesley wore one of the Tutu Du Monde dresses from my client closet and it looked absolutely adorable on her.

If I could describe their two horses, I would say Rhett a Welsh Cross, known as Debonair, is like the teenage boy who is way too cool for his own good and know it. He strikes a pose here and there, and just really seems to not care about anything in the world, and is a giant puppy dog. Bling, who is known as True Bling at shows, is a 16 year old Welsh Pony, but he acts a bit like a toddler. He is very playful and loves to talk to anyone who will pay attention to him, however when it comes time to go in the ring he is a total gentlemen and it is all business. I also think he much prefers to be in portraits with his brother Rhett, because the minute Rhett came around he decided he had to pull out his inner model skills as well…but that didn’t stop him from smiling and constantly showing off his teeth for his portraits.
