Roadster “Roady” | October Hill Farm | Dallas, TX Portraits

Roadster is owned by Sarah and goes by “Roady.” Roady is a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood. The pair trains with Christian Heineking at October Hill Farm in Hudson Oaks, TX.

Roady is a tall, dark, and handsome bay gelding with a blaze and white socks. He is by Quidam’s Rubin and was bred in Europe. His pedigree boasts Quidam De Revel as a grandsire who was a bronze medalist at the Barcelona Olympics! Sarah considers him her “unicorn.” He is a barn favorite among her peers and even their horses. He absolutely loves attention and kisses on the nose from anyone willing to bestow it on him.

Roady loves his routine at the barn but his favorite parts are his walks on the treadmill each morning and the bran mash they get each Sunday. His favorite treats are carrots and apples and he has an adorable way of turning his head to Sarah when he wants a treat. Roady has had a very successful show season in the 1.30 JR/AO division at the Desert Horse Park in Thermal, California securing several wins and ended up Overall Reserve Circuit champion in that division which is very competitive on the California horse show circuit. Sarah absolutely loves her gentle unicorn!

Sarah got into horses when she was young growing up in Iowa and started competing in the showjumping industry about 6 years ago where she started riding with Colleen Mcquay. She is aspiring to get to the Grand Prix level and she is very passionate about the sport and the horses in general. Sarah owns a brokerage real estate firm and specializes in farms and ranches so her passion meets her work. Her husband Clayton Boyd specializes in building custom barns.

These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
