QUERLY QUICHE TW | 5-YEAR-OLD OLDENBURG GELDING | CYPRESS, TEXAS
Meet Quickie, the 5-year-old Oldenburg known in the show ring as Querly Quiche TW. With his tall, green bean look, chestnut coat, white face markings, and two white legs, Quickie is a standout at Clear Round Show Jumpers in Cypress, TX. This stable is renowned for its excellent care and top-notch training programs, making it the perfect home for Quickie and his rider, Celeste Chesser.
Celeste shares a collection of fond memories of Quickie growing up at her parent’s barn alongside her childhood pony, Bucky. “At the time, I didn’t have a grown horse to ride, so I would bother him almost every single day while he was a baby. It was a crash course in how to raise a horse, but it built such a solid partnership between him and I. I wouldn’t trade any of those first years for anything; he is definitely my soul horse,” Celeste recalls.
Quickie’s journey to Celeste was a chance encounter. “I took a chance on breeding and met Anneliese Kannow (Three Wishes Farm, California) through Facebook, and she sent me Quickie’s dam to breed. When I looked at her photos of his mom online, I always noticed the fanciest little chestnut colt at inspections with her. He also happened to have amazing bloodlines. Months later, when I unexpectedly retired my heart horse, I called Anneliese for advice on a colt in Montana when she told me she would give me the opportunity to acquire Quickie. Within one month, the fancy colt in the photos was on a trailer from California to Texas,” Celeste shares.
Quickie was bred by Anneliese Kannow of Three Wishes Farm. He is by Querlybet Hero (Baloubet Du Rouet x Narcotique De Muze II) and out of Undercover (Indoctro x Patty). Quickie is known as the busybody around the barn. He is super confident and always has to be doing something; standing still is not really an option. His favorite treat is peppermints, which he eagerly enjoys.
Celeste’s passion for horses began when she was six years old, taught by a cowboy named Mr. AJ, who made her ride bareback for a long time on a very round, old Quarter Horse. “I credit Mr. AJ for teaching me balance. I went on to win ‘Velcro Seat’ in Pony Club,” Celeste shares. Her favorite thing about owning horses is the time spent with her mom, who shares the same passion and has been integral to her riding career and helping raise her horses.
Celeste and Quickie are looking forward to many more memorable moments and achievements together at Clear Round Show Jumpers.
