Forlan H, is owned by Aphrodite and goes by “Forlan.” Forlan is an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood. This handsome bay gelding is incredibly sweet and loves carrots. They train at JP Farm with Peter Pletcher at PJP Farm in Magnolia, TX.
Forlan is a light bay with a blaze and grey tail. He was imported from Europe and comes from the VDL breeding line. Aphrodite bought him at WEF in 2018, he was the tenth horse she tried! One of her favorite memories with Forlan was meeting him for the first time. She knew he was the horse for her. He was just so stinking cute with his fluffy forelock, white stripe across his face, and grey tail. She got right on him and jumped him around and begged her parents to get him. Forlan is a brave boy who has always had Aphrodite’s back in the ring and out.
Aphrodite got into horses at the age of 6 after her Aunt Cristi put her on one of her ponies for the first time when she was 4. She begged her mom for riding lessons after riding “Princess” and once she turned 6 she started to ride. She got her first pony when she was 10 and her first horse at 12. Her favorite thing about owning horses is the bond that you form with them. They become part of the family.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
