Meet Hilton, he is a 15-year-old Belgian Warmblood handsome bay gelding. Hilton’s sire is Clinton and dam is Onieke. Hilton is most recognizable by his large size coupled with a unique star on his forehead and a little snippet on his nose and also has four white socks.
A few years ago, Hilton was owned by someone I have done many portraits of, Keely McIntosh. Keely now lives in Kentucky and has since sold Hilton to Jenny who has a young rider, Anna Kate, ride him.
Anna Kate and Hilton perform in the Large Junior Hunters and the year we took Hiltons White Background Portraits, the pair had their debut in their first ever Hunter Derby! The pair did an incredible job together.
Although Hilton is performing in the Hunter’s ring, this isn’t where he has always been. Just a few years before he was bopping around in the jumpers until Keely decided it was time for a switch.
Anna Kate has been riding ever since she can remember. She has put in an incredible amount of time practicing on her days off with her trainer at Pine Hollow Farm, and Hebron Farms to continuously push herself and her riding career so that she could one day ride at the school of her dreams. Well, that day came last year when she accepted an offer from Texas Christian University and joined the Equestrian Team. Congratulations, Anna Kate!

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
