I am super excited to finally be sharing my behind the scenes look at the 2017 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. I had the best time spending those two weeks at Pin Oak and capturing the essence of the show. I wanted to really capture the amazing atmosphere and most importantly the teamwork that goes on at the show outside of the arena. Growing up I remember going each and every year to Pin Oak to watch the Grand Prix, and my horse Lucy was actually purchased from the Pin Oak silent auction by my Mother. So it is safe to say that Pin Oak has a special place in my heart. I have picked a handful of images to share on my blog the next few weeks.
I am going to do an extra special giveaway to one lucky person who comments on the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Blog Series after it is finished. To enter simply comment on this blog and tell me your favorite part about horse shows!
Check back the next few weeks for parts 2,3, & 4 of the blog.
To schedule a session of your own email me at [email protected].
I love Pin Oak because of their history – the first donor to Texas Children’s – and the continued giving and charity outreach to Texas Children’s, Ronald McDonald House Houston, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance. I also love the attention to detail that volunteers put into the show, the charities and for the visitors. The Pin Oak ribbons, china, and memories are favorites for my daughters.
Love to see the comaradarie between the riders, trainers and grooms. Nothing would be possible without each component.
My favorite part of horse shows is being able to show people my connection with my incredible animal. I think, yes, it’s a goal to go in and show every body how successful you can be, but it proves even more when you can see a real bond and trust between horse and rider. It’s also great to go and meet others who have the same interest and love for horses in one place and just enjoy the camaraderie!
I love how you’ve captured the horse show both as riders see it and how spectators view it. I especially love your attention to detail not just horses jumping and screaming the sportsmanship pictured here. Too often I see horse show photos of just jumps but you truly captured the entire show from behind the scenes to the emotions of winning to the people who make it happen to the end results, horses over fences!
I love all the wonderful friendships I’ve made at horse shows. I started attending hunter/jumper shows here in zone 7 just a few years ago and I really feel like I’ve been welcomed by other professionals. They’ve offered advice and a congratulatory high five and just always seem to be happy to see each other do well, and I love that atmosphere.
