No Secret de la Pomme is an 8-year-old Belgium Warmblood who lives in Dallas, TX, and goes by “Pom Pom”. He is owned and loved by Beth. They train with Matt Cyphert at Woodhill Farm.
Pom Pom is light bay with a thin white strip down the middle of his face. He is by RMF Cadeau De Muze by Nabab de Reve and out of Geneve De Muze bred by Hara de la Pomme in France. The first time Beth saw Pom Pom was in a video of him jumping. She fell in love with his style and technique and knew right then that she just had to have him! She figured, “If he jumped too hard or was too strong for me he could be Matt’s Grand Prix horse.” Unfortunately for Matt, Beth and Pom Pom get along incredibly well. Beth shares that her hopes are for one-day Pom Pom will turn into her Grand Prix horse!
Although Pom Pom and Beth get along great, she was definitely a bit nervous at first and it took a minute for them to sync with one another, but once they did – she knew she had a prize mount. They have been working together for just about a year. This summer was one with a lot of hard work, patience, and learning for both of them. That hard work paid off too, Beth’s favorite memories include co-winning Woodhill Olympic High Jump – jumping 5’2 and placing 4th at Traverse City, MI in the $5,000 Low AO Class. Each of these were such incredible accomplishments for both horse, rider, and the pair as a whole.
Beth says that Pom Pom is aptly named as he is happy, playful, and sweet. She continues with ‘he has a messy little boy personality.’ They are just beginning their journey together but she’s hopeful for a career full of shows and accolades in the years ahead.
Beth began riding at the age of 13 and has owned horses since she was 17. She owns another horse, Melody, who she considers her heart horse.
Did you know that there are all kinds of different disciplines horses and their riders can compete in? Just like you can play in baseball or basketball, horses and their riders compete in different “sports” too. Showjumping, cross country, barrel racing, pole bending, and western pleasure are just a few of the different disciplines they choose from.
