Meet Nautiqua, “Halle”, also known as “Halle Berry”, a 13-year-old Welsh Pony Cross. She was bred by Fox Flower LLC in Ocala, FL. Her sire was a “famous” pony stallion named Land’s End Poseidon and her dam was Allure. Halle is black with a white ice cream cone marking on her head and three white socks. Halle is owned by the Rehme Family and ridden by Louisa and Rome Rehme. The sisters train with Christine Rishell at Westridge Farms.
Louisa and her sister Rome have been infatuated with horses ever since they were little girls. Rome begged for lessons and of course, immediately fell in love with the sport, shortly after Louisa fell struck by the bug as well. Soon they were an equestrian family who couldn’t get enough. The girls bought their first horse in the fall of 2018 and now we have many horses to call theirs. The sisters are thankful they share the same incredible passion which has created a special bond between the two. The pair also show Nautiqua and MTM So Fly.
Halle is a fairly new horse, and Louisa shares her favorite memory of when she first rode her. “I had my heart set on a cute roan pony named Zoe but when we went to try the last horse, Halle, I freaked out because she was perfection in every hoofbeat, the very definition of “Black Beauty.” Her current owners at the time called her “Naughty” because of her show name, Nautiqua. When I decided that she was my unicorn I knew this would not do because she was so perfect, so I named her Halle.”
“Halle is the “Mare-iest” mare we have! She’s got an attitude. We also call her our snowcone pony because of her face marking.” Halle is NOT picky! She will eat literally anything.
Louisa and her sister Rome both share a love for horses and riding. Since getting their first horse in 2018, they now have added to the bunch and have many. The two share that one of their favorite things about owning horses is getting to know each of their personalities and creating relationships with teammates.
