Ina Lopez is the owner of this lovely 13 year old Arabian, Millan. They reside in Plano, TX where he is trained by Ashley Walker.
One of my favorite parts about the portrait session with Ina & Milan was towards the end of the session when we went to the arena and turned Milan loose and Ina played with him in the arena. He followed her around and they just had a few really sweet moments together. Since Ina’s portrait session I have started to do more of this during my portrait sessions when we have a safe space and a horse that loves to follow their owners around.
There are so many memories we have with our special horses but Ina shares that her probable favorite is the first time he went to a show with Mil-Again Stables. The show grounds were outside and they only showed at night. When they headed out to warm up Millan there were no light at the time and the sun had set. It was so dark and Millan just started neighing and neighing. Ashley, the trainer, hops on and he just goes wild, forgets he’s a broke horse and that’s what she just love about Milan. He always puts on a show, whether it be in the warm up ring, at home putting on a horse show, or in the actual ring. He especially loves to make an ordeal when they attempt to receive our ribbons.
“I just love this horse and the heart and love of life he has. Millan always puts a smile on my face, that’s probably why my favorite thing about him is how big his heart is” -Ina
Though he likes to have a grumpy face in the stall… he always puts a smile on his owners face. Full of personality…While being groomed he will move to make sure she gets his itchy spot.
