Maddie the Boxer | White Background Portraits | Woodhill Farms | Dallas, TX

This is Maddie, a sweet 10-year-old Boxer who is owned and loved by Beth.

Maddie is considered a “flashy fawn” Boxer. “Flashy” means that their coat has more white on it than the traditional coat color. The same phrase is used on horses too! Maddie was found on a highway in New Braunfels. She found her way to Austin Boxer Rescue where Beth ended up meeting her at an adoption event.

One of Beth’s favorite things about Maddie is how much she loves Starbucks.  The baristas even know her name and put Maddie on her puppacinos.  If you want to get Maddie’s attention, you can say “Starbucks!” and she looks at you and perks up. Maddie is a cool dog and has won the affection of all who meet her. Her dog sitters love coming to visit, Beth’s husband’s friends enjoy her company, and she always receives compliments when they’re out on walks.

Beth knew she wanted to save a dog but she was set on it being a Boxer since it was a breed she had grown up with. Her friend introduced her to the Austin Boxer Rescue and when she went on an adoption day she was disappointed to find that the dog she went to meet just didn’t click. However, as Beth and her mom were about to leave they saw Maddie. Beth went over to meet her and Maddie was instantly all over her and giving her kisses. Beth knew she had found her dog and has since adopted from Austin Boxer Rescue twice more.

Did you know that Boxers get their name from their tendency to use their paws like they’re boxing with you when they’re playing?
