I photographed Maddie & her horse Quantos at Monarch Stables in Austin, TX. We did both her senior portraits and black background portraits during her session. It was incredibly warm on the day of her session, but Maddie was a trooper the heat was totally worth the beautiful wildflowers that time of year at the barn.
When Quantos first arrived at Maddie’s barn he was really tired so she wasn’t able to get the chance to know him. However, the next several times Maddie went out to ride him, was when she was really able to learn who he truly was. Quanto is a super silly boy who cannot standstill. Maddie’s favorite memories of Quantos are, “him doing this funny lip thing where he throws his lips around and makes a funny noise. He knows that he is just getting attention and it’s adorable. I also loved our session in Katy because I was really just reminded of his cute and quirky personality!
Maddie and Quantos recently moved up into the Low Amateur Jumpers. Maddie describes Quantos as a horse that cannot standstill. He loves to move around. One of his favorite things to do is play with his lips. Another one of Maddie’s favorite things about Quanto that especially accentuates his goofiness is his love for clothing. He loves to hold your clothes in his mouth, he doesn’t bite you, he just wants to hold your clothes in his mouth. Everyone at the barn knows him for his goofiness but also how sweet he is. Along with his playfulness, he is a big snuggler.
Since we did Maddie’s Senior Portraits the pair have been moving up the ranks and showing all over the place! It has been so fun getting to watch this pair shine in the show ring.
