I first met Lilly a couple of years ago at a show, and I knew at that very moment that she was incredibly special. Lilly was the barn mascot for Little Bay Farms and was Laura’s partner in crime. If you can imagine a dog, that looks like a goat..well that is what Lilly was like. Unfortunately, Lilly passed away recently but I can promise you that this special goat has forever left a lasting impression on so many people’s lives. Around the horse shows at Great Southwest Equestrian Center, you could hear the echoes of Lilly’s BAHHHH’s randomly during the day. It was always a fun surprise for the unexacting person to see a goat at a horse show.
One of Lilly’s favorite treats was Fruit Loops. She would beg for them as soon as she saw the bag. She also loved to play with people, like they were goats! Laura would step back and charge at her just like another goat, and Lilly would JUMP up on her hind legs and try to ram Laura just like she was playing with another goat.
Did you know that goats can be taught their name and to come when called by humans?
