Lexington Kentucky Equine Photographer | Dolce the Gray Arabian
Dolce, Uno Vida Dolce, is a 13-year-old light gray Arabian x Warmblood Mare belonging to Janine Mendez.
Dolce is currently on rest as she is due to foal this summer, she is one of Janine’s best show mares, with similar markings and color as her Dam.
Dolce loves haging out with her fellow barnmates Grace and Rain. Dolce is versed in Dressage and is currently training at second level. This gray mare has shown incredible ability in lateral and collected work. Dolce always tries her best and listens well. Dolce was bred and foaled at Janine’s farm. Her mother sadly passed a few months after her birth, which led to her close connection to Rain, who took on the role of Dolce’s mother.
Dolce is described as Princess to all who know her. Her favorite treat to receive is an apple! One of Dolce’s greatest accomplishments was winning the Championship at training level at Regionals.
Janine started riding when she was little on her childhood appaloosa, Lighting, and she continued to ride at various barns and worked at Arabian facilities and other dressage facilities until she established her own. She has had horses all of her life. She loves being able to work with them and see how much they evolve with the different riders and who they attach to and how they grow with her and the other riders.
Janine shares a favorite memory of Dolce when Janine took Emily, her student, to her first shows and Dolce helped her through her nerves, Dolce knew what she was doing and it helped Emily get over her fear of showing, Dolce helped Emily grow into the shower that she is today. Dolce helped start Emily’s visualization of what she wanted to be in the future.
