Lefino DV Z is a 9-year-old Warmblood who resides in Argyle, TX, who goes by “Lefino.”. He is owned and cared for by Ellie. The dynamic duo trains at Woodhill Farm with Matt Cyphert.
Lefino is a cute, dappled grey Warmblood with a diamond-shaped snip on his nose. Ellie’s trainer, Matt, saw him at a show and immediately knew who he would be a great fit for. They brought him home and Ellie and Lefino hit it off!
Pin Oak 2021 was the pair’s first horse show and they had only been riding together a little while when they stepped into the big ring. Lefino took great care of Ellie at her first Pin Oak International Derby! Ellie had her first riding lesson at age 10, and like many of us fellow horse lovers, she has been hooked ever since. She’s loved horses her whole life and now it’s in her blood. Her favorite part of owning horses? Giving them all of the love and attention that they deserve for all of the hard work that they do for us. Ellie absolutely loves grooming and grazing her horses any chance she gets. Although Ellie and Lefino’s time together was short due to her departure to college, it was nothing less than memorable.
Did you know that grey horses are often born completely black? As they get older the black fades and they become more and more grey. Some grey horses, by the time they’re in their teens and twenties, are almost completely white.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
