Kyra Van de Doornhaag is a stunning 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood chestnut mare. Her sire is Nabab De Reve and her dam is Nikky. This sweet mare is loved truly by Christine Rishell, the owner, and trainer of Westridge Farms in Spicewood, TX.
Kyra is one with an old soul and not amused by much, especially when it came to getting her portraits taken. We had to pull out all the stops to get this sweet girl’s ears up…our squeaky pig, floppy fish, treats, you name it – we tried it! Eventually, she figured out that the sooner she got her ears forward, the sooner she was able to go back to the barn for a nap and some food.
Christine’s passion for riding started at the age of 5 and has since spent her life devoted to horses and the sport. Christine was raised in Southern California where she received an education for developing athletes which allowed her the ability to train and work under some of the top Hunter, Jumper, and Dressage professionals on the West Coast. After a successful Junior career, she became a professional and relocated to Austin, TX where she started her own Hunter/Jumper business.
