IRON BUTTERFLY LC | 9 YEAR OLD WARMBLOOD | HUGO, MN
Phoebe, Iron Butterfly LC, is a Warmblood Mare. Her sire is Flying Colors who is by Flying Pegasus. Her dam is Melbourne. She was bred by Karen Cudmore of Heartland Farms in Nebraska. Phoebe lives and trains at Arbor Hill Farm with Elzabeth Lampert in Hugo, MN.
Phoebe is a stunning pinto horse, with a beautiful black and white coat that catches everyone’s eye. But her unique characteristics go beyond her appearance. She is known as the sweetest horse you’ll ever meet, with a friendly and gentle disposition that endears her to all who come in contact with her. She has a real love for attention, and she’ll happily nuzzle up to anyone who wants to give her a good scratch or a pat on the neck. But don’t let her friendly nature fool you – Phoebe is also an incredibly talented athlete. She loves to jump and has a real passion for the sport. In addition to jumping, Phoebe is also a big fan of trail rides. She loves nothing more than exploring the great outdoors, and she’s always up for an adventure. Whether it’s through the woods or across a wide-open field, Phoebe is always ready to hit the trail and see where it takes her.
Torie, Phoebe’s owner, had been on the lookout for a new horse for quite some time when she stumbled upon Heartland Farms, where Phoebe was born and raised. It was love at first sight when Torie first tried her out two years ago. Phoebe’s sweet personality, natural jumping abilities, and love for trail rides made her stand out from the rest. Torie knew right away that Phoebe was the perfect horse for her and wasted no time in bringing her home. The bond between Torie and Phoebe has only grown stronger over the years, and Torie feels incredibly lucky to have found such a special horse at Heartland Farms.
This friendly Pinto horse has a bit of a sweet tooth when it comes to treats! She absolutely loves anything that’s on the sugary side. In fact, it seems like the sweeter the treat, the happier Phoebe becomes! Her eyes light up and she’ll eagerly nuzzle up to anyone holding a sugary snack, hoping to get a taste. While she might enjoy the occasional healthy treat, like a handful of hay or a few pieces of celery, it’s clear that anything sweet is Phoebe’s absolute favorite.
Torie’s love for horses began at a young age, around 6 or 7 years old. Even before getting in the saddle, she was already smitten with these majestic animals. Once she finally had the opportunity to ride a horse, there was no turning back for Torie. Riding quickly became a passion, and she found that her horses brought her an incredible amount of happiness and fulfillment. Over the years, Torie’s love for horses has only grown stronger, and she feels a deep connection with these amazing creatures. She’s grateful for the joy and love that horses have brought into her life, and she can’t imagine a world without them.
Torie has so many wonderful stories about her beloved horse, Phoebe, but her favorite one is the day she discovered just how much of a lap dog Phoebe could be. While spending time together on the ground, Torie noticed that Phoebe was particularly affectionate and loved being showered with attention. She soon found that Phoebe had a special affinity for cuddling up to Torie and nuzzling her face. It was a heartwarming and adorable moment that cemented their bond even further. Despite Phoebe’s fiery spirit under saddle, Torie knew that she had a soft and affectionate heart, which only made their friendship even more special. Torie will always cherish this memory with Phoebe, and looks forward to many more heartwarming moments with her beloved “heart horse.”
