Natalya’s Horse & Rider Senior Portrait session at Twisted Oak Farm outside of San Antonio,TX was nothing short of magical. Senior portraits are the perfect way to celebrate and remember your high school years, so it is only natural to include your favorite horse as a part of your senior pictures.
I absolutely adored this session so much, that I decided to split up the different looks that Natalya used for her portraits into their own blog posts. Stay tuned for the rest of her looks this week!
When I arrived at the barn I was instantly in AWE of Antic’s presence just while standing in the cross ties, not only is she a giant, but she had such a big personality just standing there being groomed. I instantly fell in love with Antic.
Natalya said they call Antic “Miss Priss” because she can be a diva sometimes. “She doesn’t like when you mess with her mane, her saddle must be put on extremely gently, and she always expects carrots and treats. Antic loves her job as a jumper and is always itching to go gallop and jump something; she always wants to ride.”
In true mare fashion Natalya said, “She’s never been extremely affectionate but I know she loves me because she doesn’t walk away when I try to catch her in the paddock. She doesn’t walk towards me… but she doesn’t walk away. She knows when I’m having a bad day and I know when she’s having a bad day.” When it came time during their session to take some snuggly portraits, Natalya wasn’t sure how it would work out, but I think Antic knew it was time to ham it up for the camera because she pulled off the perfect snuggly horse role during Natalya’s Senior Portraits.
“She’s my homegirl and my teammate.”
