Meet Boodle, also known as Henley, and Henny Benny Boo, the lovable female terrier/hound mix with a wire-haired brown and white coat. Boodle’s owner, Karissa, found her at the Bolivar Humane Society shortly after losing her beloved dog of 19 years. Boodle’s playful demeanor and affectionate personality instantly won Karissa’s heart.
According to Karissa, Boodle’s favorite treat are pickles, which is quite an interesting choice for a dog. But that’s just one of the many quirks that make Boodle so endearing.
Karissa has been a lifelong dog owner and Boodle fits right in with her loving family. In fact, Boodle likes to sleep wedged between Karissa and her husband, completely on her back with her feet in the air and her back feet in their faces. It’s a funny sight that never fails to bring a smile to their faces.
When Karissa first saw Boodle at the shelter, she was out in the yard playing. As soon as Boodle saw Karissa, she ran over and flipped into her lap, as if to say, “Take me home with you!” Karissa knew right then and there that Boodle was meant to be part of their family.
Boodle is a dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Her playfulness and affectionate nature make her an ideal companion for anyone who loves dogs. Karissa and her family feel truly lucky to have found Boodle, and they can’t imagine their lives without her.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2023 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 150 Horses and Dogs and was able to donate just under $15,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston.
