Hemi | Two Stride Farm | Fine Art Dog Portraits

Hemi is a 7-year-old Pointer/American Bulldog mix who resides in Cleveland, TX. He is owned and cared for by Micah. Hemi is the official barn mascot of Two Stride Farm in Spring, TX.

Hemi is a snuggly boy with a white coat and light copper-colored spots. He loves napping on the couch when he’s at home but takes his job as a farm mascot very seriously. He was found on the streets of Houston and found himself in the shelter. Luckily he ended up being rescued by Houston Pets Alive where he resided for a year. He was their longest resident when Micah and her husband met him and adopted him.

Hemi has been with Micah and her husband for four years. She describes him as “the kindest, loving and old soul….there is no other dog like him!” He even helped save a baby squirrel that had fallen out of a tree. He gently picked it up with his mouth and carefully carried it to Micah who managed to get it to a wildlife rescue.

Hemi definitely has a joker side to him though! He loves apples and often steals them from clients at the barn who bring them for their horses. He is the absolute best boy and Two Stride Farm is lucky to have him!

Did you know that the Pointers are bred primarily as hunting companions? Their sole focus was locating birds. Pointers love security and comfort. They don’t think of themselves as dogs, but rather as fellow family members. Even the hunting companion will flourish when he’s part of the family.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
