Hanoverian | White Background Portraits | CR Stakkata “Stakkata”

CR Stakkata is a 9-year-old Hanoverian who resides in Tomball, TX, and goes by “Stakkata.” She is owned and cared for by Hope. The dynamic duo trains at Trapp O’Neal and Hanley Morrison at TKO Sporthorses.

Stakkata is a tall, dark, beautiful bay mare with a big star on the top of her forehead, a longer snip on her nose, and three socks. She is by Stakkato out of a Quidam’s Rubin Mare. Both sides of her breeding are notoriously known for their top jumping style. Stakkata is a sweet mare with a healthy side of sass. She can often be found with her head resting on her stall door taking a snooze. However, once Stakkata enters the show ring it’s all business and sass.

Whenever Stakkata jumps a fence she flicks her tail with her signature “I did that!” swish. The pair struggled over the last year to find a good rhythm in working together. Hope felt lost and out of sync with Stakkata. However, after some changes and working with Stakkata they made their way to the 1.20 meters for the first time! Even though they didn’t win, they accomplished rounds that Hope was so proud of and she was even more proud of herself that she persevered and never gave up.

Stakkata was at Clear Round Show Jumpers, that is where Hope previously trained. The first time Hope ever saw Stakkata go around the ring was when a friend of hers asked her to set up a few jumps for her to school Stakkata. Stakkata’s powerful eloquence over the jumps immediately intrigued Hope, and a week later she ended up trying her. In May 2021, she celebrated owning her for one year.

Hope became seriously interested in horses around the age of 5. She and her two older sisters begged to go to horse riding summer camps. Neither of their parents had ever been involved with horses. They were unsure of where they got the idea but reluctantly signed the sister up and they loved it. Hope continued to do summer camps and lessons until the age of 8 when she finally got a pony of her own named Sprite. Her family had some acreage at their house and her pony moved there. From that young age, she assisted in taking care of their horses. They started off in dressage and she did that until age 10. She and her sister taught themselves to jump over cavaletti’s their parents bought them. She fell in love. From that day forward she decided to change disciplines and focus completely on jumping. Almost 10 years later, she doesn’t regret a thing. Hope was extremely fortunate to have had such amazing parents. They helped instill a strong work ethic into her. She loves feeling in tune with her horses.

Did you know that horses were once used to carry mail? It was called the “pony express.”
