Double Play, “Hank”, is a 17-year-old OTTB. This term is often used and for those who don’t know, it means ‘Off The Track Thoroughbred’. Hank is a handsome grey gelding who lives in Missouri and is owned by Kira.
Kira shares with us her favorite memories with Hank was a time that she and Hank went clean in 1.0m jumper class. Oftentimes, when we say someone ‘went clean’ in a class this means that they didn’t have any faults, in other words, they didn’t knock any poles down.
Something that we, as horse lovers/owners, love so much about having our horses is getting to know them each individually and learning their personalities and quirks. Hank has the cutest personality and one of the most unique traits, which is crossing his legs when he is swatting a fly!
Kira found Hank off of Facebook and has had him for about 6 years now. His favorite treat is Peppermints. And if she could sum him up in one word, it would be Goober! Kira’s mom sent her to horse camp when she was a kid and she has been riding now for about 27 years. Kira loves the sport, the discipline, and the fact that it’s a never-ending learning sport.
Did you know that Thoroughbreds hold more World Records than any other breed?
