Audrey Norrell, an assistant trainer for Woodhill Farm, has always loved showing at Great Southwest Equestrian Center because it is such a wonderful venue that allows you to show in all types of weather. Having shown primarily on the west coast it is such a delight for her to show at a nice southwest facility. She is so grateful to be able to do what she loves everyday and call it “work”! Audrey is also a full time student attending St. Andrews University Online.
Audrey grew up fox hunting, but has been in love with showjumping ever since she was first introduced to it. Her favorite part about the sport is that it showcases the relationships with our equine partners, while presenting us with new challenges all the time.
The horse photographed here with Audrey is a sale horse that came to her barn this past summer, she goes by the name of Little Red. She’s as sweet as they come on the ground and just an overall pleasure to deal with. We’ve loved having her in the stable so far! We have enjoyed our time together with the amenities that GSWEC provides with ample room to ride and we never feel too cramped. They have loved experiencing the laid back and friendly environment for themselves and other competitors.
“It’s easy to get discouraged with the sport of showjumping. The soundest piece of advice I can give is do everything you can to maintain a good perspective and a positive outlook. Embrace and learn from your mistakes, because I can guarantee everyone that is at the top of our sport has gone through similar situations. Remember that dreams seldom have an expiration date!”
