Greymeadows Fear of Missing Out | Welsh Pony Gelding | Austin, TX

GREYMEADOWS FEAR OF MISSING OUT | 5 YEAR-OLD WELSH PONY | AUSTIN, TX

Monty, Greymeadows Fear of Missing Out, is a Welsh Pony with a little bit of Holsteiner in him. His sire is Catawba. His dam is Palustrine Lady of Loch Erin. He is trained by Kalli Smith at Monarch Stables in Austin, TX.

Monty, the palomino horse with a distinctive stripe down his back and three faint socks on his legs, is a remarkable equine with a big personality. Endowed with an insatiable appetite, Monty delights in devouring anything edible that comes his way. His playful and affectionate nature is reflected in his fondness for licking those around him, spreading joy with his slobbery displays of affection. While he is generally well-behaved, it can be a challenge for Monty to remain still for extended periods, his restless spirit always seeking the next adventure. Nevertheless, his charm and lovable demeanor have made him a cherished member of the barn, earning him the status of a true favorite among all who encounter him.

Wesley, Monty’s owner shares, “We found Monty in NYC. My trainer actually found him from a video. I have had Monty since November 2022. The first time we met was in Katy, TX for a horse show.”

Monty has quite a discerning palate when it comes to treats. His absolute favorite treat brand is Snacks Fifth Avenue, which never fails to elicit an eager and enthusiastic response from him. However, Monty’s culinary adventures don’t end there. He has developed a fondness for the delectable delights of Chick-Fil-A. Specifically, he adores their refreshing frozen lemonade and the irresistible crispiness of their golden fries. It’s a treat he savors with great delight, his eyes lighting up at the mere mention of it.

Monty, the remarkable horse, has achieved a series of notable accomplishments alongside Wesley, Monty’s owner. Together, they have attained the prestigious title of champion, demonstrating their exceptional skill and teamwork. Monty’s talent shines particularly in the classic, as evidenced by multiple victories at prominent events such as Pin Oak and other shows in Katy. Their success has garnered attention and recognition, leading to an exciting opportunity: competing in the upcoming Pony Finals. With optimism and confidence, Lisle and Monty are eagerly preparing for the event, fueled by the belief that they will achieve great things together. Anticipation fills the air as they look forward to showcasing their abilities on a grand stage, ready to leave their mark and create even more unforgettable moments in their journey.

Wesley’s love for horseback riding blossomed from an early age, as she was exposed to the equestrian world practically her entire life. Living near New York City, their family would escape to the nearby barn every weekend, creating a cherished tradition. At the tender age of two, she embarked on her own riding journey, taking lessons on a delightful grey pony named Cloudy. The sheer happiness and joy that horses brought into her life became her favorite aspect of horse ownership. Moreover, it provided an opportunity to forge strong bonds with fellow equestrians at the barn, creating lasting friendships. Being naturally competitive, she relished the thrill of competing and eagerly looked forward to horse shows as a source of fun and excitement. Riding became a passion that filled her life with both camaraderie and a sense of adventure.

Wesley holds a cherished memory close to her heart, one that forever solidifies her bond with Monty. It was the day they first met, and despite Monty’s young age of five, she was prepared for a spirited and inexperienced pony. However, as soon as she mounted him and began trotting, a wave of pleasant surprise washed over her. Monty’s movements were remarkably smooth, and he proved to be her ideal ride, exceeding all expectations. In that magical moment, she knew deep in her heart that Monty was the one. This special memory serves as a testament to their extraordinary connection, and since then, their partnership has grown stronger, leading them to triumph in nearly every show they enter. Together, they have discovered the true meaning of a perfect ride, weaving a story of success and shared accomplishments that will endure for a lifetime.
