Goldi | Pin Oak Charity Horse Show White Background Portraits.

I wanted to share some of the horse’s favorite treats today! If you have never been around horses or a horse show you might not know what horses love as special treats.

Keep in mind that horses should never be fed anything without their owner’s permission, and without making sure their owners are present so make sure that you ask for permission before offering a treat to any horse.

Some horses have special dietary restrictions, and some horses may even need their treats cut into tiny pieces if they are old and missing a few teeth.

Here are five popular horse treats that are widely enjoyed by many equine companions:

1. Carrots: Crunchy and naturally sweet, carrots are a classic favorite among horses. Packed with vitamins and minerals, they make for a healthy and delicious treat. Remember to cut them into bite-sized pieces for safe and easy consumption.

2. Apples: Another timeless favorite, apples are not only tasty but also provide essential nutrients and fiber. Horses love the juicy texture and sweet flavor of apples. Remove the core and cut them into small slices before offering them to your horse.

3. Peppermints: Known for their refreshing flavor, sugar-free or low-sugar peppermints can be a delightful occasional treat for horses. The cool sensation and hint of minty goodness make them a popular choice among many equine enthusiasts.

4. Stud Muffins: These commercially available treats have gained popularity for their irresistible taste and convenience. Stud Muffins are typically made from a blend of wholesome ingredients like oats, molasses, and fruits. They come in various flavors and sizes, making them an enticing option for rewarding your horse.

5. Homemade Treats: Making your own horse treats can be a fun and rewarding experience. There are numerous recipes available that allow you to create customized treats for your equine friend. Oat-based treats, carrot muffins, or even simple combinations of molasses and grains can be a hit with horses.
