GOLDEN BOY | 9 YEAR-OLD KWPN | HOUSTON, TX
Ivan, Golden Boy, is a KWPN Gelding. His sire is McJonnas. He trains at Irish Day Farm in Houston, TX.
Ivan, a stunning palomino horse, is quite the character with his distinct white blaze and white stockings. But what sets him apart, even more, is his playful and curious nature. Ivan loves to use his mouth to explore his surroundings, often picking up objects and tossing them around with ease. This quirky behavior makes him stand out from other horses. Moreover, Ivan’s personality is one-of-a-kind as he seems to wear his thoughts on his sleeve. When Ivan is deep in thought, it’s almost as if you can read his mind by watching his expressions and movements.
Miranda, Ivan’s owner, found him in a unique and endearing way. It was when her mom was riding him shortly after he had arrived at their barn. As they were practicing, Ivan accidentally knocked a dressage whip off the fence and into the arena. But what happened next surprised everyone. Ivan picked up the whip with his mouth and handed it to Miranda’s mom, almost as if he didn’t know what to do with it. Miranda’s mom found this behavior hilarious, and it immediately warmed her heart to Ivan. From that moment on, they knew Ivan was the perfect horse for them. His playful and curious nature had won them over, and they were excited to welcome him into their family.
This playful and curious horse has a unique taste when it comes to treats. His absolute favorite treats are bananas and dragonfruit, which some might find strange for a horse! But Ivan can’t get enough of them. Whenever his owners offer him these treats, he eagerly devours them and can’t seem to get enough. It’s clear that Ivan has developed a taste for the unusual, and his owners find it endearing that he loves such an exotic combination of fruits. They’re always on the lookout for new and exciting treats to offer Ivan, but bananas and dragonfruit remain his all-time favorites.
Miranda’s love for horses started early in life, thanks to her mom’s passion for these majestic animals. She grew up surrounded by horses, and it didn’t take long for her to become enamored with them as well. Miranda started riding at a young age and quickly fell in love with the sport. For her, owning horses is more than just a hobby; it’s a way of life that teaches patience, dedication, and hard work. Miranda cherishes the connection she has with her horses and loves spending time with them. Her passion for horses has grown over the years, and she’s grateful to have been introduced to them at such a young age.
Miranda has many fond memories with Ivan, but one that stands out to her is when he first arrived at their barn. Her mom was riding him in the arena, and Ivan accidentally knocked a dressage whip off the fence. What happened next surprised everyone. Ivan picked up the whip with his mouth and handed it to Miranda’s mom, almost as if he didn’t know what to do with it. Miranda’s mom found this behavior hilarious, and it immediately warmed her heart to Ivan. This moment was the start of a special connection between Miranda’s family and Ivan, and they knew he was meant to be a part of their lives. Whenever Miranda thinks back to that moment, it brings a smile to her face and reminds her of the joy that Ivan brings to their lives.
