Fabiano, “Fabi”, is a 20-year-old Butch Warmblood Liver Chestnut gelding with a white blaze on his face. Fabi lives at Timber Ridge Farms. He is owned and ridden by Emma Warry, the pair trains with Laura Mendoza out of Little Bay Farm.
Emma shares her favorite memory with us which was back when she lived in Ohio. “I would ride in the evenings after work with my best friend. We would have so much fun, laughing, and making up little synchronized riding patterns that we would practice and play around with. We were like little kids, enjoying our horses and riding without any expectations.”
Fabi was previously a Junior Hunter horse who belonged to Emma’s trainer. Emma has owned him for 9 years now. “The first time I met him was at a horse show that I had never been to, to support and cheer on my barn family. I looked at him and somehow just knew he would be my next horse.”
Emma describes Fabi as a giant love bug. He would curl into her lap and take a nap if he could! One of his favorite summer treats is popsicles!
“I got on a horse for the first time about 11 years ago as an adult, around the age of 30.”, shared Emma. “I had always wanted to ride growing up, but it had not been possible. I immediately fell in love with the sport but mostly the sense of peace that I felt being around the horses. I ended up with the most awesome barn family in Ohio (Stealaway with Angela/Maria Moore). When I started riding I was struggling with how I felt about myself, having a very negative self-dialogue. The love and support that I got from my barn family, the generosity and kindness that Fabi bestowed on me, and the challenges and accomplishments that went along with riding, enabled me to find a love for myself that I never thought possible.” Emma shares that her favorite thing about owning horses is the sense of peace and freedom she gets when she is at the barn with her horse and friends. “To be able to have Fabi in my life and all the doors he has opened is an opportunity that has been second to none. My life has been changed for the better, I am happier, braver, and have more confidence in myself and what I can achieve than I even thought possible.”
