Meet Editor’s Note, “Elliot”, an 11-year-old grey gelding medium pony who is ridden and adored by Liliya. Liliya and her sweet pony, Elliot, train with Courtney and Scott Lenkart at South Haven Farm outside of Dallas, TX.
At the time, Liliya was looking for a new horse…she walked into a big grass field, and there HE was. “He was so amazing and so sweet. After a day of begging, I finally got my parents to get him for me. I had just finished riding in Flordia at WEF and was walking him out to graze. We stopped by to get crepes and he was ready to order his. Unfortunately, I had to tell him he wasn’t allowed chocolate, so carrots would have to do. It was so much fun. He begs by chewing the crossties.” shares Liliya.
Elliot’s favorite treat is licorice.
I was on a due ranch and I saw some horses, my mom was scared when I first went up to them because none of the horses liked people…there was even one who was known to never even go near anyone. Soon he came up to me and let me pet him. Liliya shares that she has been riding horses for about five years now. “I love them so much I don’t have one favorite thing about them.”, says Liliya.
