Don Ramrio “Sven” | Eighteen Acres Farm | Houston, TX Equine Photographer

Don Ramrio, is owned by Amy and his friends call him “Sven.” Sven is an 18-year-old American Warmblood. This handsome bay gelding loves fruit loops. The pair trains with Amy’s sister, Mindy Cortez, at Eighteen Acres Farm in Tulsa, OK.

Sven is a big bay gelding with a blaze and hind socks. Amy initially leased him for a year and their partnership took off. Amy’s parents surprised her by purchasing him for her birthday at the end of the lease. She definitely considered it her best birthday ever! Sven loves to show. He doesn’t love training at home but would happily show each weekend.

Amy loves how well Sven knows and does his job. He is a great jumper and takes great care of his rider. Sven won the NAL Finals in Las Vegas. He also was the national WCHR champion. He has had numerous year-end zone finals champions as well.

Amy started riding when she was four years old. Her sister started taking lessons so their parents figured if she was going to be dragged to the barn with her sister, she may as well start riding!

These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
