DEJAVOO | 11 YEAR-OLD HOLSTEINER | BOERNE, TX
Roo, Dejavoo, is a Holsteiner Mare. Her sire is Lintas and her dam is Amour. Roo is owned by Megan who rides with Rachel Gray at Gray’s Equine in Sisterdale, TX.
Roo is a beautiful horse with a dark bay coat that has a touch of white on her face, adding a unique charm to her appearance. Her personality is the perfect blend of sweetness and sass, making her a delightful companion. On the ground, she’s a great girl who’s easy to work with, but when it comes to jumping, she’s always raring to go! Her enthusiasm for jumping is infectious, and she’s always eager to take on new challenges. Roo is truly a one-of-a-kind horse with her unique combination of beauty, personality, and talent.
Megan, the proud owner of Roo, has a heartwarming story about how she found her beloved horse. One day, Megan stumbled upon a video of a 5-year-old horse located in Michigan that had not been broken yet. Despite the risks involved in purchasing a young, untrained horse based solely on a video, Megan decided to take a chance on Roo. It was a decision that would change her life forever, as she’s now enjoyed 6 wonderful years with her beautiful horse. Megan’s leap of faith has undoubtedly paid off, and her bond with Roo continues to grow stronger with each passing day.
Roo is a big fan of treats and has quite the sweet tooth! She’s not picky when it comes to snacks and enjoys all kinds of treats. However, carrots and puffed peppermints seem to be her absolute favorites. Whenever Megan brings out a bag of peppermints or a bunch of carrots, Roo’s eyes light up with excitement. She can’t resist the irresistible crunch of a carrot or the refreshing taste of peppermint. It’s always a joy to watch Roo indulge in her favorite treats and see the happiness it brings to her sweet little face.
Megan’s love for horses started at a young age and has been a significant part of her life ever since. Her father was an avid horse enthusiast, showing horses in New York and Florida, which undoubtedly played a significant role in sparking Megan’s passion for riding. As a teenager, she got her first horse, and it quickly became one of her favorites that she’s ever owned. Megan loves the special bond she gets with horses and finds it rewarding to raise and breed them. Owning horses brings her joy, and she cherishes the opportunity to create a unique connection with each one of them. Her love for horses is evident in the way she cares for and interacts with them, and it’s clear that riding and owning horses is a lifelong passion for Megan.
Megan has many cherished memories with Roo, but one of her favorites is from when she first got her and went on a trail ride. As they approached a creek, everyone else crossed it without any issues, but when it came to Megan and Roo’s turn, something unexpected happened. Roo took a running start and jumped completely over the creek! Although Megan was initially taken aback by Roo’s sudden leap, she couldn’t help but be impressed by her horse’s athleticism and courage. However, their adventure didn’t end there, as they soon realized they had gone the wrong way and needed to cross the creek again. To Megan’s surprise, Roo took another flying leap over the creek, but this time she was ready for it and held on tightly! The memory of Roo’s daring leap over the creek still brings a smile to Megan’s face and serves as a reminder of the incredible bond she shares with her beloved horse.
