He currently lives in Tioga, TX at Bud Lyon Performance Horses. His owner, Madison shares, “Bosco loves to cuddle and be in your face. He is such a loving horse with a sweet personality. He is great at smiling! Most of the time he will do it on his own but if you tickle his nose he’ll hold it for a photo! We compete in reining. My favorite thing about Bosco is that he takes care of me. I compete in the NRHA Rookie and the AQHA Amateur classes, and still have a lot to learn. Every time I get on him, I know that he will do his best for me, even if I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing! He can go out and do well in the open level classes with my trainer, and then I can get on him and he can dial it back just a bit to rock in the rookie classes with me. He is such a patient horse and always gives me his all.”

She continues, “A close friend of mine and my trainer actually found Bosco for me! He was all the way out in a different state and we bought him before I even met him – they knew he was perfect for me. I’ve had him since about summer last year (2016) – this is my first year showing him. I met him at Reining By The Bay in Woodside, CA, which is the first time I got to ride him! He was just so sweet and gentle and I loved him from first sight – he is my forever horse!”

The best word to explain Bosco is “charming,” and he will eat anything you give him! He was reserve champion in the lv 2 Open Derby at Reining by the Bay in 2016 and top 5 in the lv 3.

Madison started riding at 6 years old. She took a break through middle school through beginning of high school and got back on at about age 15. She continues, “I’ve been riding reining horses ever since and started showing at age 18. Horses are my favorite thing about owning horses. I’m in college studying Animal Science and concentrating on Equine Science so that, hopefully, I can open up my own Stallion Station/Breeding Farm one day. Horses have grown to be a huge part of my life and I can’t imagine not being a part of the horse world!”

Madison explains, “One of my favorite memories with Bosco was our first 72. It was my third time showing him, and it had all been over the course of a weekend. We were still figuring each other out and it had just been me riding him every day, so when we went in the pen, and over came all the obstacles we were facing, it was an amazing feeling. It’s like we went in there and he put his head down and said ‘ok, anything you need.’ He was just so patient and so forgiving, and rode like a dream. It was the moment I really felt connected with him and will forever be so special to me.”
