Chino is a handsome, grey Stallion by Cassini I and out of Querida HC by stallion Irish Taxi XX. He has had an incredibly successful jumper career and would be considered a true three-ring horse. He had a successful jumper career in Europe prior to coming to the US competing in Grand Prix and 1.60M classes. Chino is now showing in US with Marissa of Emmellar Stables, and is available for breeding. He is a proven Hunter, Derby, and Grand Prix winner. I can honestly say from this time doing portraits at Pin Oak Charity Horse Show that he is the true definition of a perfect gentlemen, our set up at the horse show can be a bit scary and there are so many distractions at the show, yet he posed and was so incredibly well behaved and focused on being a model.
Marissa’s interest in horses developed when she was a young girl. She competed in just about everything from costume classes to hunter/jumpers. Marissa is a 2010 Equestrian Science graduate from William Woods University, receiving her MBA in 2012, which allowed her to channel her love for horses into a full-time business. Marissa has a strong background in equine activities such as rehabilitating racehorses, serving as the Hunter/Jumper show team president in college, volunteering her time on the board of MSHA, showing across the country, and now breeding future performance horses. Between caring for her horses at her barn and competing in shows, she is often to be found within a few feet of a horse.
Karinda K. is a Houston, TX based equine photographer that travels around the United States photographing equestrians and their horses. Karinda specializes in Outdoor Horse & Rider Portrait sessions that bring to life the magical relationship equestrians share with their horses, Senior Portraits, and Fine Art Black & White Background Portraits for those that want a piece of art featuring their very own animals. Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
