COSMIC ROCKER | 12-YEAR-OLD | WEATHERFORD, TEXAS
Meet Cosmo, the 12-year-old horse known in the show ring as Cosmic Rocker. With his striking dark bay coat, Cosmo is a standout in the show ring. Cosmo lives and trains at Brian Hadley Stables where he is loved and adored. Cosmo is loved and ridden by Jodi.
One of Jodi’s favorite memories with Cosmo is showing him in the Amateur Ladies Roadster to Bike class at the World Championship Horse Show (WCHS). “We finished 4th, and it was a blast of a drive…minus one ‘oh no’ moment! We were cut off by another driver and had to cut hard to the inside. My weight was not completely over the axle, and I could feel the left wheel lift. Cosmo dug in, straightened himself out, in turn re-balancing the cart. He just knows!” Jodi recalls with pride.
Cosmo came into Jodi’s life when he was sent to her husband for training. Known for his incredible speed and funny personality, Cosmo is a bit of a jokester. “He is FAST! Sooooo FAST…and funny! He is a bit of a jokester,” Jodi says. Cosmo’s favorite treats are German Muffins, which he eagerly enjoys.
Cosmo is also known for his nurturing nature. “Cosmo is a babysitter. He takes care of anyone who sits behind him, making him a star in my eyes!” Jodi shares. His ability to care for his riders makes him a cherished member of Brian Hadley Stables.
Jodi’s equestrian journey began with three-day eventing in high school in 1998, and she has owned horses ever since. Her bond with Cosmo is incredibly special, and their journey together continues to be filled with accomplishments and cherished memories.
Karinda K. is a Houston, TX based equine photographer that travels around the United States photographing equestrians and their horses. Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
