Meet “Tux”, also known as ‘Cookies And Cream’ in the show ring! Tux is a 10-year-old Black and White Paint Pony with one blue eye. Tux is ridden and loved by 8-year-old Lily Langthorn and owned by her mom, Kate Langthorn. Tux lives at Pine Hollow Farm in New Caney, TX along with Kate’s horse who we also photographed during Pin Oak, Charming Boy O, aka “Tank”. This mother-daughter duo trains with Will Roberts.
The Langthorn Family got Tux in May of 2021, so coming up on one year! It was a surprise for Lily. He had a big red bow on his back when Lily pulled up to the barn! Talk about the best surprise ever!! Lily and Tux recently had their first horse show together at Pin Oak 2022! After many after-school days of practicing and early morning weekends, putting in lots of work, Lily and Tux had an incredible first-ever show! Tux was such a good boy carting Lily around. Lily is looking forward to many more mother-daughter horse show weekends!
We asked Lily to narrow down her favorite memory with Tux. We know that asking this question can be difficult for anyone and requires much thought…not to mention for an 8-year-old and her first pony, as there are so many! But Lily didn’t hesitate, she remembered the exact moment and the excitement she felt – those are the moments you hope to never forget! Lily shares, “My favorite memory over the past year was my first lesson at Pine Hollow with Mr. Will. Tux and I were both so excited!”
Tux has the kindest personality and absolutely loves attention! Lily shares a rare characteristic trait of his which is that he has one bright blue eye, making him extra special and unique.
“My mom grew up riding and I’ve always loved horses. I started riding in 2020 and then my parents surprised me with Tux last year!” Lily shares that her favorite thing about owning Tux is no matter what he is her best friend and she loves him endlessly!
Since Pin Oak 2022, The Langthorn Family has sold Tux to a family close by in Houston, TX where he will continue living his best pony life with a loving little rider.
