Meet Constantine, a huge grey gelding who lives in Dallas, TX. Constantine is owned and loved by Dawn who rides at Chantilly Farm.
Not only is Constantine well known around the barn, but he is loved by everyone there. He is a perfect gentleman with the best manners. He absolutely adores it when the little girls from the barn come around and give him all the attention, especially when they have extra cookies for him to devour.
During our Portrait Session, Constantine was the perfect model. Stood as still as a statue, it was almost as if he knew when the camera was out and when he had to get his pose on. Since he is so flexible it allowed us to be able to take some really amazing detailed shots of his braided mane. Not all horses are as flexible as Constantine, or flexible at all. Maybe one horse is more flexible to one side than the other – just like people are when say reaching for your toes. That is why it is just as important for riders to work with their horses making sure that they stretch their neck to either side so their horse doesn’t get sore or stiff.
Did you know that like people, horses Chiropractors too? This helps horses tremendously with any soreness and/or stiffness they may be holding onto and to perform at their best.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. During the 2021 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Karinda photographed around 140 Horses, Dogs, and even Goats, and was able to donate $10,000 to Candlelighter’s Houston. These are the stories of the Horses, Dogs, and Goats that were photographed at the show, these stories complement a photographic book that Karinda is printing and donating to Texas Children’s Hospital featuring Portraits of each and every animal she photographed.
