Cindy & Lauren’s Portrait Session at Hunter’s Run Farm, a Hunter Jumper Farm located just outside of Houston, TX, was incredibly special. Cindy now also rides Gilbert, so she asked if she could jump in for a few pictures with Lauren and Gilbert and also get a few by herself. Of course, I said yes! While Lauren was changing into her second outfit we grabbed a few images of Cindy & Gilbert, and even ended up including Lauren’s first horse Jazz in the photos.
This was my second trip to Hunter’s Run Farm, and I was so incredibly excited because it really has some gorgeous areas for photos, especially with the giant trees! I know Liza was incredibly sad to lose one of their big trees earlier this year, but it ended up looking pretty cool in the photos.
Cindy will never forget the day they leased Gilbert after learning that their Warmblood mare would be out for at least 6 months and Lauren was devastated. Cindy told her that they would be leasing Gilbert (and eventually bought him) and Lauren was over the moon ecstatic! She also shared, “When we left the barn that day he ran up to the fence and put his head on her shoulder.” They have had an incredible love connection from day one. Lauren used to ride him in the children’s division. Went to college and now rides in the amateur hunters. Cindy rides him during the week when Lauren is working.
Hunter’s Run Farm is a Hunter Jumper Facility run by one of my favorite trainers in the Houston area Liza Richardson. If you have ever been around a Hunter show in Texas, I can pretty much guarantee you have crossed paths with this wonderful person. I first ended up at Hunter’s Run Farm, last year when I photographed Vicki Hunton’s stallion Shine.
Lauren and Cindy’s other horse, Sashay, is living out her retirement at Old Oaks Farm.
