CHRISMA | 17 YEAR OLD WESTPHALIAN | HOUSTON, TX

Chrisma is a 17-year-old Westphalian Mare. She was imported from Germany in 2010. She is trained by Patty Roberts, Caroline Molther, and Katherine Cameron at Memorial Park Hunters in Houston, TX.

As a dark bay mare, Chrisma has a striking appearance that catches the eye of anyone who sees her. However, it’s not just her color that makes her unique. Chrisma has a gentle and friendly demeanor that sets her apart from other horses. She loves nothing more than spending time with her human friends and is always happy to greet them with a soft nuzzle and a friendly whinny.

Despite her sweet nature, Chrisma is also a highly intelligent and perceptive horse. She seems to understand the moods and emotions of those around her and is always quick to offer comfort and support when it’s needed most. Whether she’s in the pasture grazing peacefully or trotting around the arena with her rider, Chrisma radiates a sense of calm and contentment that is truly special.

Cheryl and Chrisma’s story began four years ago at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, where Memorial Park Hunters helped her find her perfect match. It was there that Cheryl first laid eyes on Chrisma and was immediately drawn to her unique beauty and gentle demeanor. Thanks to the expert guidance of the Memorial Park Hunters team, Cheryl was able to make a connection with Chrisma and ultimately bring her home. Since then, the duo has developed an unbreakable bond that is a testament to the power of finding the right horse.

When it comes to treats, Chrisma is not picky at all! She simply loves everything that is offered to her. But if she had to choose just one, it would definitely be carrots. This sweet mare can never seem to get enough of these crunchy and nutritious snacks. Whenever she sees someone approaching with a bag of carrots in hand, she immediately perks up and begins to nicker with excitement.

Cheryl’s love for horses and riding began a little later in life – in her mid-fifties, to be exact. She had always admired these majestic animals from afar, but it wasn’t until later in life that she finally took the plunge and decided to learn how to ride herself. From her very first lesson, Cheryl was hooked. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair as she galloped across the arena and the sense of freedom that came with it. Over time, Cheryl’s passion for riding grew and she eventually found her perfect match in Chrisma. Despite starting later in life, Cheryl has become a skilled and confident rider thanks to her dedication and love for these incredible animals.

For Cheryl, it’s hard to pick just one favorite memory with Chrisma because every time she rides her, it feels like they create a new one. From the very beginning, Chrisma has helped Cheryl become a better rider and they have faced many challenges and triumphs together. Despite any setbacks, Chrisma has always been patient and supportive, which has allowed Cheryl to grow as a rider and deepen her bond with her beloved mare. One moment that stands out in Cheryl’s mind is the way Chrisma’s kind and expressive eyes seem to mirror her personality – gentle, understanding, and full of love. Whether they’re out in the pasture, practicing in the arena, or simply spending time together, Cheryl cherishes every moment she has with Chrisma and the memories they create.
