Casalette is known as “Cassie” around JNL Stables. She is owned by Linda who is the Mom of the amazing Jessica Law. Cassie is a 10-year-old Holsteiner Mare who LOVES bananas. Linda shares, “I might forget milk and eggs at the store, but I better not forget the bananas.”
Linda has always loved animals, especially horses and dogs. She grew up riding a little here and there, but when her daughter showed interest in English riding at an early age she decided to join her. This was nearly 32 years ago, and it is safe to say that this one little decision changed both of their lives. Cassie shows in the 3’6″ Amateur-Owner Division with Linda.
Cassie is a bay with four white socks, and she is absolutely beautiful! She is a feminine-looking horse and stands about 16.2. She is the quiet “boss” mare type. She gets along well with most horses, as long as they don’t try to bully her. She goes in the paddock every day with her best friend Wilma, who is Jessica’s horse that was imported at the same time as Cassie. Jessica found Cassie when she was on a horse buying trip in Germany. Linda shares, “I agreed to purchase her without seeing her or riding her. The first few months were tricky, as she was shown as a jumper in Germany. But my daughter was right, she much prefers being a hunter. We moved fairly quickly into the 3’6″ AO section and Cassie and I were 2020 Zone 7 AO Champion, along with THJA AO Champion.”
Did you know that most horses actually love bananas? They are a healthy source of potassium for horses and are a fruit that horses enjoy eating for an extra boost of energy. You can feed bananas to horses with the skin still on as a whole.
