Calypso 3 Month Old Filly out of Supremat OLD

As a photographer one of the hardest things to do often time is photograph your own kids (or animals in my case). This afternoon after a little bit of a crazy morning I decided to take my camera out when I turned the horses out. Im sure some of you may have seen my post about Guardia Equine Sports Medicine. Dr. Guardia recently had to come out to our place in Montgomery,TX while I was out of town in Lexington because Calypso our 3 month old filly out of Supremat OLD decided to hurt herself.  After yesterday’s eventful time turning her out for the first time in almost 2 weeks I decided to take my camera out today to capture the action. Unfortunately most of the action happened while I was trying to get her into the pasture as she decided to run up and down the fence instead of going inside the gate, but I still did manage to grab a few pictures of her.

I am starting to realize that she is growing up so incredibly fast and her little personality is changing so quickly. I wanted to grab some images that really showed her personality. She was so interested in my camera that she kept trying to walk right towards me and sniff my lens wondering why I was just crouched down in the pasture. It’s so much fun watching her navigate and learn to move those big long legs, it took her quite a while to figure out the whole grazing thing. I also adore her little ears, well they may not be so little but I’m sure she will grow into them eventually…Although, I will be ok with it if she doesn’t.
